Our dear friend Brian was critically injured in a car accident on Sunday. This news shot right through our hearts. Brian is one of Chris' closest friends. He had just talked to him a few nights before. We were planning on getting together for the NC State Bowl Game after Christmas. It is scary how fast something can go wrong.
All of this got me to thinking. I know life is precious but when something happens so close to home it is a reality check. You realize how important it is to let the people around you know how important they are in your life. Everyday I am touched by people in my life. I am making an effort to let people know how they have affected me or helped me. I do not wanted to take anyone or anything for granted.
I am so thankful for my wonderful husband, very supportive parents, and overall loving family. Everyday I thank God for all his many blessings. We continue to pray for Brian and his family. He is making improvements everyday. Stay strong Brian! You have helped me put my life into perspective.

The holidays have begun
Well I started off the holiday season by cutting my finger with a handsaw. I was trying to make the tree look perfect:) Yes it hurt, a lot. No stitches but the nurse at school said I probably could have used a few. Oh well. It is healing. The tree is up and decorated. I added a few last touches to the mantle this afternoon. I have been playing all of my Christmas CD's and loving every minute of it.
Last night was the work Christmas party. You sure learn a lot about people after they have had a few drinks. Needless to say I was completely entertained by the older generations of teacher having one too many totties! I can't wait to see them at school on Monday.
Only 19 days until Santa comes to town.
