Apples, Apples Everywhere

We went to the Apple Festival in Elijay, GA today. I have never seen so many different apple related items in my life. Apples in every color, apple bread, apple pies, apple cider, apple slushi (weird), apple ice cream, you get the picture. Chris and I were able to buy a few yummy things. I can't wait to munch on my carmel covered apple. It is not fall without a carmel covered apple.

The best part of the whole day was going to eat at the famous Poole's BBQ. The food was good and the atmosphere was most interesting. Outside the restaraunt on the hill are hundereds of wooden pigs with names written on them. It looked like a pig graveyard. We had to get a picture (above). We are making the Apple Festival and Poole's a fall tradition.

Bad Momma

I already know I will not be a good momma. I have 2 doggies that are my children, for right now. Anytime they do something wrong I just laugh. Tonight Bella stole a hamburger bun right off my plate on the counter. I wasn't in the kitchen when she did it but I heard her making all kinds of noise. I only caught the tale end of her finishing up her "treat." I stood there and tried to keep a stern face, but I caved and started laughing. There was no discipline at all. Bad momma! She is spoiled rotten. I created a monster.

NYC Baby!

A couple of weeks ago we went to NYC to visit Aimee, Matt, and Zach. It was Chris' first visit to the BIG city and he loved it.

We spent most of Friday afternoon in Central Park. It was really beautiful and the people watching was great. Chris played with Zach at the kiddy park. It was so cute watching them play together in the sand box. On Friday night we headed to Yankee Stadium. Armed with only a map of the city we hopped on the subway. Bronx or Bust! Well... we got on the wrong train and went all the way to Brooklyn. Yes that is right Brooklyn. 40 minutes out of the way. We finally asked some poor soul when the train was going to get to Yankee Stadium. He just stared at us like we were complete idiots and said, "You are in Brooklyn" and walked off the train. So we got off at the next stop and proceeded to head north again. 1 1/2 hrs later we arrived at Yankee Stadium. That place was crazy. Yankees lost but we had a great time.

Saturday was filled with typical touristy things in NYC. We went to the Empire State Building, had lunch in Soho, shopped on Canal Street, and paid our respects to Ground Zero. The night ended in Time Square where we took many pictures and dined at a yummy sushi spot with the Fernberger family.

The weekend ended as we sat in the Newark airport discussing our favorite parts of the weekend. Chris, of course, thought Yankee Stadium was the best and for me, it was toss up between shopping on Canal Street scoring several fake Prada, Fendi, and Dolce and Gabanna handbags and strolling through Central Park enjoying the views.

We can't wait to go back.

Lazy Day

This is my first official blog post. I have been thinking about starting a blog but haven't had time to figure it all out. I still haven't but I am working on it. I have the next four days off for fall break. I have a to-do list that is a mile long and have yet to do anything on it as of 6:20 tonight. Shame on me! Tomorrow will be a better day... or at least I keep telling myself that. I hope to update as often as I can.
